Grande Mosquée de Paris

The Grande Mosquée de Paris is one of the largest ones in France and I have seen from reviews that it is not a typical attraction but it is well worth a visit as it is a beautiful place.

It is right next to the Jardin des Plantes where you can find a zoo, several museums including the gallery of mineralogy and geology, gallery of evolution, as well as a greenhouse. It is an excellent choice for a day out with family.

Anyway back to the Paris Mosque, so after my visit to the zoo, I was passing by the mosque and I thought I would profit from being in the area and visit since I have never been to a mosque before.

Mind you, the visit is not free, the entry fee is 3 or 4 euros. We went in, walked around, the mosque is open to all except the prayer room and it took us around half an hour. I wouldn’t recommend a special visit to the mosque but if you happen to be in the area or after your visit to the zoo, then it is nice to have a look.
